When he's home on Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, he does sport every day and holds the Guinness World Record for being the oldest person to kitesurf across the English Channel. Of course, he also gets in planes, no great surprise as the founder of Virgin Atlantic, exploring Antarctica with Al Gore and diving with tiger sharks in the Bahamas to draw attention to climate change and conservation issues. A poster boy for risk taking, whether in business or in the skies, he and Swedish adventurer Per Lindstrand became the first people to hot-air balloon across the Atlantic and he's tried four times to circumnavigate the world the latest attempt saw him crash-land in the Sahara and being taken hostage by an Algerian warlord. Powered by 20 cups of English breakfast tea a day (white, no sugar) and the odd whole-nut chocolate bar, the founder of the Virgin Group is not slowing down.
